The Footsteps Group has been providing services for people with learning disabilities since 2004. The groups services include:
We have years of experience running children services and a very
good track record of meeting quality standards in this area. Over the
years we have developed staff and our services so that they can be
flexibly applied to the needs of children accessing the service. Our
services are carried out ensuring that the fundamental principles of
the Human Rights Act are upheld .
A key strategy that we use is the promotion of person centred planning
and support, enabling the views of children and significant others to
influence where possible how they wish to be supported and
cared for. Great emphasis is placed on the way our staff communicate
with children with learning disabilities. A learning disability is
known to affect the way a child understands information and how they
communicate. This means that the children for whom we care can have
difficulty:
- understanding new or complex information;
- learning new skills;
- coping independently.
We believe that having a learning disability should not stop a child
from having a full and enjoyable life. Our staff are here to care,
support and help children with learning disabilities develop and deal
with every day life events. Our Children Services are regulated by Ofsted and our Outreach Service is regulated by CQC.
Both services are subject to regular inspections and the outcome of
these inspections are available to users and potential users of the
service.
Our services provide for seamless transition from our residential care
services to foster care, rehabilitation with the family or supported
living. Each child will have a pathway plan in place prior to leaving
our service. This plan would prepare the child for transition to
another type of service as agreed by the multi-professional team in
consultation with the child.
Our services are based in North East London/Greater London areas and
can
provide accommodation for children from age 5 to 17 years of age. with
learning disabilities and complex needs. We have been working with
several Local Authorities in London and the Home Counties over
the past 10 years to look after children with special needs. We
continually to employ the experience and proven strategies in
our service as well as adopt new practices and techniques in our
continuing quest to improve standards and achieve best outcomes.
